Eid Mubarak 🌙
Celebration of end of Ramadan...
" EID Mubarak " signify a wish for goodness, peace, and blessing.
Today marks the end of Ramadan—a month of fasting and prayer, one of the pillars of Islam, established in the 7th century during the life of the Prophet Mohamed.
In Muslim tradition, it was during this time that the revelation of the Quran began.
—
Fasting from dawn to sunset structures the day :
- It limits what is mundane and obvious.
- It teaches patience.
- It teaches mindfulness.
- It teaches simplicity.
- It is also a time for relationships—with others and with what transcends the everyday.
A time of sharing and remembering those who have less.
—
The day begins before dawn.
Then comes work.
Women prepare evening meals, take care of the house, and work ...
Men work, returning home early if they can.
After sunset, everything changes :
- First, water and dates ( always we try to eat odd number of the dates 1 or 3 or 5....)
- Then food.
- Families eat together.
- After the meal, prayers, visits, conversations.
- The streets fill with people.
—
Today, this rhythm concludes.
- Eid al-Fitr begins with a communal prayer.
- Then food prepared for the day ( mainly cakes, patisseries...) meetings, visits...
- Houses are open to receive wishes...
