The Moroccan Haidong Gumdo Association Continues Its National Referee Training Program in Accordance with the Revised Referee Regulations
As part of its annual program aimed at strengthening and developing the national refereeing system, the Moroccan Haidong Gumdo Association organized two training sessions for referees and instructors. The sessions were hosted by Cheon Yong Dojang in Marrakech on May 17, 2026, and July 25, 2026, under the supervision of Headmaster Yahya Bouaicha.
The two sessions focused on explaining the provisions of the revised Sword Sparring Referee Regulations(DAE-RYUN), adopted by the European Union Haidong Gumdo Association (EUHGA) and effective since February 2, 2026, which remain in force today. The training covered the main updates introduced in the revised regulations, including organizational and procedural provisions, the roles and responsibilities of referees, the standardization of refereeing signals, and the proper application of the rules during competitions.
In addition to the host school, Cheon Yong Dojang (Marrakech), representatives from several Haidong Gumdo schools across Morocco participated in the program, including Hwang Yong Dojang (Témara), Geum Gang Dojang (Belfaa), and Al Mahara Dojang (Tiznit). The training aimed to strengthen cooperation and ensure a unified understanding and application of the revised regulations among technical officials and referees.
The Moroccan Haidong Gumdo Association confirms that this national training program will continue with practical training sessions, followed by the qualification and appointment of referees in preparation for the regional and national championships scheduled for the upcoming sports season.
Through this initiative, the Association reaffirms its commitment to the continuous development of national referees and instructors, keeping pace with international developments in Haidong Gumdo and contributing to the advancement of refereeing standards and the growth of the discipline throughout Morocco.
