FK LAUVU BENDES 2:2 (1:0) FK LIELUPE
⚽ 22' Yan Selifanov (Gasper Starc)
⚽ 47' Miķelis Mārtiņš Mažis
In their final game of the tournament, LAUVU BENDES were unable to make the most of Yan Selifanov and Samuēls Panteļejevs finally featuring in the lineup on the back of a period of absence, and had to settle for a draw against a persistent FK LIELUPE side. The first half saw both teams approach the tie somewhat cautiously, most of the chances being created due to mistakes of their opponents. Selifanov kept getting shots away, oftentimes as a result of winning back possession high up the pitch, and it was the explosive forward who opened the scoring just before half time after being played in by Starc. Despite having tried hard to build on the momentum in the second half, LAUVU BENDES gave away an easy goal as Linards Rožkalns failed to deal with a shot from the edge of the box following a piercing counter attack. To make things worse, Robert Gjaltema misplaced a pass when playing out the back and could only stop the attacker by conceding a penalty. With FK LIELUPE having put themselves in the lead for the first time on the night, Mažis not only managed to grab the equalizer with three minutes left, but also set up Nazarii Volianskyi who came agonizingly close to winning it with the last kick of the ball.
The result means LAUVU BENDES have to settle for a 5th place finish in the Rīgas nakts minifutbola līga 2026 with 7 points in as many games. The team will continue to prepare for the summer season with new players rumored to join the squad in the near future. We thank you for your never ending support!
