On this day, four years ago, April 22nd 2011, Weil Coerver passed away. Coerver managed several professional clubs, including Feyenoord of Rotterdam, and N.E.C Nijmegen, and was the developer of the Coerver Method. Coerver was nicknamed “the Albert Einstein of Football”

Riga United Youth Academy celebrates its 1st birthday today!!
One year ago today we started with 17 boys in a blizzard. Twelve months on we have grown to 42 boys and girls. Thanks to all our young players, their parents, those who have supported the club on and off the pitch and as well as of course to the coaches for making this happen!

UNITED HOSTING DUTCH TEAM NEC NIJMEGEN

Riga United are proud to be hosting the Dutch football club NEC Nijmegen this week. The Dutch Eredivisie club flies in to Riga today and will spend a week in Latvia.
It is the perfect way for Riga United Football Club to celebrate the one year anniversary of its Youth Academy, which was founded on April 5, 2013.

Nijmegen's Under-14 side will spend the week in Latvia with a friendly match being played tomorrow (Saturday, April 5) against FK Jelgeva, Kick off 15:00 at Riga United's home ground (School 49, Valdemara iela, Riga). Anybody wishing to see the match is invited to come down and watch our Dutch guests play; their team includes a number of Dutch youth internationals.

The visit of NEC Nijmegen was agreed last year when Riga United officials visited Holland to meet the club and spend two days watching its youth teams playing. Riga United hopes its relationship with the Dutch top league club will grow in the coming months and years which will undoubtedly benefit the youth team players at our academy.

Tonight is the first session of outdoor training for the Riga United academy kids in 2014! School 49, 17:30
