What an unforgettable weekend for the Cēsis Womenā€™s Maxi Basketball Team at the AK CUP ā€“ Alfrēds Krauklis Memorial Basketball Tournament!
We fought for every ball, shared the court with great teams, reunited with old friends and made new ones. Because basketball truly has no age limit.
One of the most special moments came after the games, as we boarded the Misisipi for an evening cruise along the River Daugava. While we were on the water, Riga was celebrating its birthdayā€”the riverbanks came alive with music, performances and festive crowds, creating a spectacular backdrop to an evening filled with laughter and friendship. šŸš¢āœØ

A heartfelt thank you to Cup ā€“ Alfrēds Krauklis Memorial Basketball Tournament and the entire organising team for bringing together generations of basketball lovers and reminding us that the spirit of the game lives far beyond the final whistle.
We return to Cēsis with wonderful memories and one simple thought: as long as weā€™re excited to step onto the court, weā€™ll keep playing. ā¤ļøšŸ€

FIMBA organizētajā Eiropas čempionātā, kurÅ” Å”ogad notiek GrieÄ·ijas galvaspilsētā Atēnās, piedalās ap 200 komandu no 32 valstÄ«m. Latviju pārstāv 5 komandas - trÄ«s sievieÅ”u komandas vecuma grupās 50+, 60+ un 65+ un vÄ«ru komandas 45+ un 80+.

Around 200 teams from 32 countries are taking part in the FIMBA European Championship, organized by FIMBA, which is being held this year in Athens, the capital of Greece. Latvia is represented by five teams: three women's teams in the 50+, 60+, and 65+ age categories, and two men's teams in the 45+ and 80+ age categories.

The Cēsis women's team is competing in the 50+ age group, where they will face Lithuania, Germany, and Chile in the group stage.
By participating in major international tournaments like this, the team not only gains valuable playing experience but also observes the organizational aspects of the event, with the aim of adopting best practices for the organization of the Cēsis Basket Cup, which will take place from January 15 to 17, 2027. Teams will be very welcomed.

Å ajā nedēļas nogalē Cēsu novadā notiek viens no vērienÄ«gākajiem Eiropā un lielākais Baltijā basketbola turnÄ«rs pieauguÅ”ajiem "CESIS BASKET CUP", kurÅ” Å”ogad tiek organizēts 8.reizi un tajā piedalās 63 komandas no 11 valstÄ«m: Itālijas, ÄŖrijas, Lielbritānijas, Vācijas, Spānijas, Polijas, Armēnijas, Gruzijas, Lietuvas, Igaunijas un Latvijas. Å is ir vislielākais turnÄ«rs, kāds lÄ«dz Å”im bijis CēsÄ«s, tādēļ biedrÄ«bas "Actico" komanda cÄ«tÄ«gi gatavojas sportistu uzņemÅ”anai. Tiks izspēlētas 126 spēles Cēsu un Priekuļu sporta zālēs un sportisti izbaudÄ«s ziemu CēsÄ«s un novadā vismaz 3 dienas.

This weekend, one of the largest basketball tournaments in Europe and the biggest in the Baltics for adults, the "CESIS BASKET CUP," is taking place in Cēsis Municipality. This year, it is being organized for the 8th time, with 63 teams participating from 11 countries: Italy, Ireland, the United Kingdom, Germany, Spain, Poland, Armenia, Georgia, Lithuania, Estonia, and Latvia. This is the largest tournament ever held in Cēsis, so the "Actico" association team is diligently preparing to host the athletes. A total of 126 games will be played in the sports halls of Cēsis and Priekuļi, and the athletes will enjoy winter in Cēsis and the surrounding area for at least 3 days.
