There is one more round to go in the W Series season before the summer break. Thiemo (.albers.daly.drivetribe) takes a look at what you should keep an eye out for this Budapest weekend…🕵️♂️
Three rounds in and there are just six points separating Alice Powell and Jamie Chadwick. The 2019 defending Champion has performed well since her first race mishap back in Austria. But Alice is not letting up in her pursuit for the Championship with two wins to her name already this season. Both drivers will be hungry for at least another trip to the podium this weekend, if not the win itself. 🏆
8th, 2nd and 14th places are the finishing positions that rookie Sidorkova has managed so far this year. The Russian got off to an impressive start to her campaign. But she was let down a bit by a poor performance in Silverstone. One must remember, though, that she’s still a rookie and has consistently finished ahead of more experienced drivers in all three rounds so far. 🇷🇺
With podiums in two of the first three races, it will be shocking if Fabienne Wohlwend doesn’t get up onto the top step sometime in the 2021 season. Could she do it this weekend? It’s very likely. Wohlwend is quickly becoming a fan favourite so it would be awesome to see it happen. Either way, Fabienne is going to another driver to keep your eye on this weekend as she just might spice things up in a brilliant way. 👏
There are plenty of other drivers on the W Series grid, and all have had a mixed bag of it so far this season. The likes of Ayla Agren, Bruna Tomaselli, Vicky Piria and Beitske Visser have all flown somewhat under the radar this season. It will be fascinating to see which of these – and the other – drivers can capitalise best this weekend, and for us as fans to see if there will be any unexpected surprises in store. 👀
Oh, and it's a hello and welcome back to Caitlin Wood who is stepping into the roving car of Tasmin Pepper this week. Great to see you back on the grid 👋
