After conquering circuit racing worldwide, TCR is now expanding to hill climbing competition - ASS TCR Hill Climb Series in Europe.

The calendar includes six events in Central Europe; in countries where an affinity to TCR is guaranteed.

The ASS TCR Hill Climb Series may be expanded to include eight events in the future.

WSC president Marcello Lotti commented: “This is another step forward for TCR. A logical step, as hill climbing is very popular in many European countries, with teams, drivers and fans. The technical characteristics of TCR cars make them competitive in this kind of competitions, in terms of pure performance and affordable costs. It’s a new frontier for us, that opens a large market for new and used cars.”

2019 ASS TCR Hill Climb Series calendar:

1. 4-5 May, Eschdorf (LUX)
2. 1-2 June, Verzegnis (ITA)
3. 15-16 June, Beaujolais (FRA)
4. 27-28 July, Hauenstein (GER)
5. 17-18 August, Les Rangiers (SUI)
6. 21-22 September, St. Agatha (AUT)

The Bryan Herta Autosport unveiled its new Hyundai Veloster N TCR at the North American International Auto Show.

After its successful campaign in the 2018 Pirelli World Challenge that resulted in the Teams’ title and second and third positions in the Drivers’ championship, the team will field the new car in this year’s IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge.

Michael Lewis and Mark Wilkins, who were classified second and third in last year’s Pirelli World Challenge, will share driving duties in one car, while the second Veloster will be driven by Mason Filippi (who ranked fourth in the 2018 World Challenge) and Harry Gottsacker (runner up in last year’s World Challenge’s GTS class).

This new car shares around 85 percent of its core components with the championship-winning i30 N TCR.

The first customer deliveries will begin in March, 2019 and the price starts at €135 000.
