🌍 Let's Help Zanta Reach the OCR World Championships in Beijing! 🇿🇦
Dear Gauteng Modern Pentathlon Community,
As a community, we have always celebrated the achievements of our athletes and supported one another in reaching new heights. Today, we have an opportunity to rally behind one of our own and help make an extraordinary dream become a reality.
Zanta has earned the incredible opportunity to represent South Africa at the first OCR World Championship in Beijing, China from 2–6 September 2026. Competing on the world stage is the culmination of years of dedication, sacrifice, and hard work, and we are incredibly proud of her achievement.
The Reality of the Trip
While our athletes have the heart, the discipline, and the talent to take on the world, elite amateur sport comes with a significant financial barrier. Because OCR is still a developing sport in South Africa, this opportunity is completely self-funded.
The cost of flights, accommodation, competition entries, team kit, travel insurance, and other essential expenses means that it will cost between R40,000 and R50,000 for each athlete to compete in Beijing. With less than two months between qualifying and the World Championships, there is a very short window to raise these funds.
This is where we, as the Gauteng Modern Pentathlon Community, can make a real difference.
What Your Support Will Help Fund
The funds raised through this campaign will help cover:
✈️ International flights to and from China.
🛂 Visa application and travel documentation.
🏨 Accommodation during the competition.
🚕 Local transportation and meals.
🏁 Competition registration and related travel expenses.
🎽 Essential equipment and final training preparation.
Every donation, no matter how big or small, will help Zanta get one step closer to representing South Africa on the international stage.
