And another Lithuanian Open has already come to an end. First of all our apologies for the the lack of updates during the weekend, we experienced some problems with the WIFI in the playing area.

On Saturday 148 men and 36 ladies participated in the Lithuanian Open. In the ladies tournament England's Margaret Sutton successfully defended her title by defeating Sweden's Helene Sundelin 4-1 in the final. Third places went to Lithuania's very own Sandra Rimkevičiūtė (Topas Kretinga) and Anja Springborg-Larsen from Denmark.
In the men's final the 2022 Kaunas Open champion John Scott from England defeated Davy van der Zande from The Netherlands, who could not really get going in the final, 5-1. Third places went to Niels-Jörgen Hansen from Denmark and Bjorn Vervloet from Belgium. Best Lithuanian player was Saulius Vitartas (Elektrėnų smiginio klubas "Dublis") who reached the quarter finals.

On Sunday 126 men and 36 ladies made their way to Sala for the Kaunas Open. Margaret Sutton achieved the double for this weekend by defeating Anja Springborg-Larsen 4-2 in the ladies final. Third places went to Annette Lord from England and Saturday's runner up Helene Sundelin. Best Lithuanians were Monika Gurauskienė (Port of darts), Asta Jukniene (Elektrėnų smiginio klubas "Dublis") and Kornelija Lušaitė (Vilniaus Legionas) who all reached the quarter finals.

The men's title went to an emotional Valters Melderis from Latvia, who defeated Lithuania's Gintaras Nagevičius (Šiaulių darts klubas „Auksinė strėlė“) 5-1 in the final. It was nice to see how much winning his second WDF title in a few weeks time meant to Valters!
Third places went to Sunday's runner up Davy van der Zande and the Polish Dream Sebastian Steyer.
