On this National Flag Day, the Chairman and Members of the Board of Directors, the Commissioner/CEO, Cllr. Neto Zarzar Lighe Sr., the Senior Management Team, and the entire staff of the Liberia Maritime Authorityty (LiMA) extend warm greetings to the Government and people of Liberia as we proudly celebrate the enduring symbol that unites us as a nation—the Flag of Liberia.
Our flag represents far more than the colors and the Lone Star we see. It embodies the ideals upon which our nation was founded: Freedom, Courage, Unity, Self-Determination, and the Enduring Hope of a people determined to build a nation of their own. Each time the Liberian flag is raised, it reminds us of the sacrifices of those who came before us and of our collective responsibility to preserve the values, dignity, and sovereignty of our country.
For Liberia’s maritime sector, the national flag carries a special and profound significance. It is proudly flown by Liberian-flagged vessels navigating the world’s oceans, carrying our national identity into ports and waters across the globe. Through the Liberian flag, our country has established a respected presence in international shipping and continues to make a significant contribution to global maritime trade.
At LiMA, we remain firmly committed to ensuring that the Liberian flag continues to stand for Professionalism, Integrity, Safety, Excellence, and Responsible Maritime Leadership. We recognize that every vessel flying our flag carries with it a part of Liberia’s name and reputation. We will therefore continue to work diligently to protect, uphold, and strengthen the integrity and international standing of the Liberian flag.
