Yes, I Bleed
By Evans D. Harmon
Unbearable cramps, yet I smile through the pain,
Because I know my bleeding is never in vain.
It’s not a curse, it’s a gift from above,
A sign of power, creation, and love.
Every month I fight, though the pain is real,
Still I rise stronger with every ordeal.
Sometimes I cry, sometimes I scream,
But nothing can stop me from chasing my
dream.
I ask my friend to check my dress behind,
Because I care, not because I mind.
You call it gross, but you don’t understand,
This blood builds nations, it shapes the land.
Men release life, and so do we,
That’s how God made humanity.
I will no longer hide or feel afraid,
This blood I carry — it’s how life is made.
I bleed to give life, I bleed with pride,
It’s the woman in me I’ll never hide.
Yes, I bleed — not for pity or plea,
I bleed because God created me.
Lesson:
Never be ashamed of your period — it’s a symbol of life.
Respect and love every woman who bleeds with strength and pride.
