✨ What exactly is a Nudibranch?
Nudibranchs (pronounced nood-a-brank) are a group of soft-bodied, shell-less marine gastropod mollusks—essentially, they are incredibly flamboyant sea slugs! Their name literally translates to "naked gill,"
which perfectly describes the feathery, exposed gill structures they carry on their backs to breathe.
Far from being ordinary slugs, these macro wonders use dazzling, bright color patterns to warn predators that they are highly toxic and not to be messed with.

The Striped Beauty This striking nudibranch sports a vibrant blue body detailed with velvety black lines and a row of bright yellow nodules running down its back.
The Ruffled Dream A pristine, elegantly frilled white nudibranch that blends perfectly into the textured reef and coral textures around Trincomalee.
The Ringed Wonder A gorgeous species with a white body, an orange-yellow border, and a pattern of bold, dark maroon or reddish-purple rings stamped across its mantle. Notice those perked-up, horn-like rhinophores used to sense its surroundings!
The Polka-Dot Gem Flashing a pale body framed by a stunning blue and yellow border, this little gem is covered in beautiful dark blue spots and boasts a crown of exposed gills at the back.
