Before there were plans and blueprints, there was our old yoga shala — simple, grounded, and quietly magical.
Built with a cement floor and wooden pillars, it stood like a small cottage nestled among trees. No polished perfection, just honesty and warmth. Though the ocean lies about 350 meters away, the shala was never silent. Instead of crashing waves, our mornings and evenings were filled with bird songs, rustling leaves, and the soft wind moving through the trees — a rhythm of nature that gently guided every breath.
Many of our guests rolled out their mats here — some before heading out for an early surf, opening their bodies and minds to the day; others returned after the surf, salty-skinned and sun-kissed, stretching tired muscles and settling the mind. It became a space of balance — effort and ease, movement and stillness.
That humble shala witnessed first-time yogis, seasoned practitioners, and curious surfers discovering yoga for the very first time. It held laughter, quiet focus, deep stretches, shared energy, and moments of complete presence. Without trying, it became a place where people slowed down, connected, and felt at home.
Today, we carry that spirit forward.
As Paddyway evolves, we are building a new yoga & fitness shala, carefully designed to match our architecture and surroundings — stronger, more spacious, and intentionally crafted. Yet the essence remains unchanged: nature-led, peaceful, and deeply rooted in simplicity.
This is not the end of the old shala’s story.
It is the next chapter.
From a cottage-like space held up by wooden pillars, to a new sanctuary rising with purpose — we invite you to breathe, stretch, recover, and grow with us once again.
