Spell 2023 🏆
"The Spell 2023", an inter-university Scrabble tournament organized by the Department of Physical Education of the University of Kelaniya, held successfully on the 1st of April at the Kelaniya university gymnasium.The tournament was conducted with the participation from the universities of Colombo, Moratuwa, Kelaniya, Jayawardenapura and Peradeniya.
University of Colombo clinched the championship in both the men's and women's categories, while men's team of the University of Moratuwa falling short by just 2 games finished as the 1st runners up.
The Kelaniya A team emerged as 1st runners up and 2nd runners up in the women's and men's divisions respectively. Despite suffering a loss to UoM in the final round, the women's team of Peradeniya rounded out the top 3 in their division by finishing as the 2nd runners up.
In the individual standings, UOC dominated once again, with Hasindu Arumapperuma and Chulakshi Welikala being awarded the best player title in the men's and women's categories respectively.
