Dear Players and Parents,

Due to the current situation we have decided to cancel today's round and rapid tournament. With the current situation we have decided to reduce the total of classical games to 09 rounds.

Pairings for the round 07 will be cancelled with this decision. If you want to cancel your byes,now you can do,and pair for the 7th round again.
You can decide until today 06 pm ,28th November.

We will publish the pairings at 07 pm today for the 7th round.

New schedule will be like follows

Round 07 - 08.00 am 29th November
Round 08 - 01.30 pm 29th November
Blitz Event - 06.00 pm 29th November

Round 09 - 08.30 am 30th November
Rapid Tournament - 01.30 pm 30th November

📢 Official Notice: Extension of Registration Deadline
Kandy Open International Chess Festival - 2025

We wish to inform all participants and chess enthusiasts that the registration deadline for the Kandy Open International Chess Festival has been extended.

This decision has been made mainly due to the severe weather conditions experienced across the country over the past few days. We understand that many players faced difficulties in making timely decisions and completing their registrations because of these disruptions.

In order to give every interested player a fair chance to join the tournament, we are extending the registration deadline to:

📅 New Registration Deadline: 24th November 2025
⏰ Time: 8.00 PM [ Please be kind enough to complete your registrations for classical event before 08.00 PM today. ]

We kindly invite all players who were unable to register earlier to take advantage of this extended deadline.

*Very Important Notice*

Many of our senior players, who are currently employed, have kindly requested that we schedule the Blitz event during the weekend. As this is the only event many of them participate in each year, and as a team that always listens to our passionate chess community, we are happy to accommodate their request.

Please note the updated schedule:

*Rapid Event: Friday, 28th — 1:30 PM*

*Blitz Event: Saturday, 29th — 1:30 PM*

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this change may cause. However, we are delighted to make adjustments that allow our senior players—who have shared their love for the game for many years—to join us at the Kandy Open Blitz and Rapid events.

04th Clash of the Titans

Inter School Team Chess Festival 2025 organized by 64 Squares International Chess Academy will be held on 20th of October 2025 at Swarnamali Girls' College , Kandy.

🏆 Age groups are - Under 09, 11,13 and 15. Girls' and Open events will be organized separately.

🏆 Age will be calculated according to the 31st of December 2025.

🏆 Each team must consist of 04 players. No reserve player.
