Table Tennis star Senul Ratnayake of Dharmaraja College made his alma mater proud, once again by representing the Sri Lanka Junior Table Tennis team for the South Asian Youth Table Tennis Championships 2024 to be held at the Kandy Municipal Council Indoor Stadium from 26 to 29 of May 2024.
Rajans are proud of you, Senul. Good luck.

2021 ඔක්තෝම්බර් මස 10 වන දින සිට 13 දින දක්වා, ඕමානයේ මස්කට් හිදී පැවැත්වීමට නියමිත, ලෝක ශූරතා කණිෂ්ඨ ශ්‍රේණිගත ටේබල් ටෙනිස් තරඟාවලිය සඳහා, මහනුවර ධර්මරාජ විද්‍යාලයේ සෙනුල් රත්නායක සහ මතීෂ වික්‍රමනායක යන ක්‍රීඩකයින් දෙදෙනා, ශ්‍රී ලංකා කණිෂ්ඨ කණ්ඩායම නියෝජනය කරමින් සහභාගී වනු ඇත. එම ක්‍රීඩකයින් දෙදෙනාගේ නිල පුහුණුකරු වශයෙන් ක්‍රියා කරනු ලබන්නේ, ධර්මරාජ ආදි ශිෂ්‍ය, ප්‍රවීණ පුහුණුකරු හසිත සමරවීරය. (Hasitha Samaraweera). අප විද්‍යාලයේ ක්‍රීඩකයින් සමඟ, ලෝක ශූරතා කණිෂ්ඨ ටේබල් ටෙනිස් තරඟාවලියකට, අපගේ ආදි ශිෂ්‍යයකුම පුහුණුකරුවකු ළෙස සහභාගි වන්නේ ඉතිහාසයේ ප්‍රථම වරටය. මෙවර මහනුවර ධර්මරාජ විද්‍යාලයීය ක්‍රීඩකයින් දෙදෙනෙකු, ශ්‍රී ලංකා කනිෂ්ඨ කණ්ඩායම එකවරම නියෝජනය කරනු ලබන්නේ, අවුරුදු 13ක දීර්ඝ කාලයකින් පසුව වීමද විශේෂත්වයකි.

Congratulations 🏓

Ten year old, Sanuka Somathilake, a Grade Six student of Dharmaraja College, Kandy is a number one ranked table tennis player who is a bright prospect for the country.

He started Table Tennis under the coaching of Gamini Silva and his playing improved vastly due to the training of Hasitha Samaraweera, who is an Old Boy as well as a qualified TT trainer of the Old Rajans Table Tennis Association who has produced many Junior and Senior National TT players over the years.

In the year 2020. Sanuka was selected as the number one ranked TT player with the support of Prasad Silva, a National player attached to the School who supported Sanuka to come to this standard and he got this based on the ranking points that he gained by beating some of the leading TT players in the Under 10 age category. The coach recognized Sanuka as a gifted TT player and that he has the emotional strength to become one of the best players in the game.

Sanuka won the Under 8 and Under 10 All Island Novices tournaments and he was into the quarter finals of all Under 10 age group ranking tournament including the Junior national Table Tennis Championship in 2019. He teamed up with his College mates to reach third place in the (A Division) and Under 14 (B Division) Inter School Table Tennis Championships in the same year. Sanuka’s development in the game was severely hampered by lack of competitors in the College at National Level and due to the present pandemic situation as most TT players did not take part in competitions. He lost an opportunity to secure a place in representing Sri Lanka in Table Tennis as there were no competitions and trials to select players for the 2021 World Hopes Tournament for which the Table Tennis Association of Sri Lanka had to select players based on points earned from the year 2019.

However as Sanuka’s parents got an opportunity to migrate to Canada later this year for employment the Country may lose a promising Table Tennis star like Sanuka Somathilake.

ධර්මරාජයේ සෙනුල් රත්නායකට ජාත්‍යන්තර ටේබල් ටෙනිස් තරඟ වරම්!

ටේබල් ටෙනිස් ක්‍රීඩාවෙන් සමස්ත ලංකා වයස 12 න් පහළ ශ්‍රේණිගත කිරීම් අනුව පළමු ස්ථානයේ පසුවන මහනුවර ධර්මරාජ විදුහලේ ක්‍රීඩක සෙනුල් රත්නායක ජාත්‍යන්තර හෝප්ස් අභියෝග තරගාවලිය සඳහා සුදුසුකම් ලබා සිටියි.

ටේබල් ටෙනිස් ක්‍රීඩකයකු ලෙස ඔහු මීට පෙරද ජාතික මට්ටමේ දක්ෂතා දක්වා ඇති අතර 2017 වර්ෂයේ අවුරුදු 8 න් පහළ මධ්‍යම පළාත් ශූරතාවය එම වර්ෂයේම අවුරුදු 8 න් පහළ සමස්ත ලංකා ආධුනික අනුශුරතාවය දිනා ගැනීමටද සෙනුල් රත්නායක සමත් වී තිබේ .

2018 වර්ෂයේ සමස්ත ලංකා ආධුනික අවුරුදු දහයෙන් පහළ ශූරතාවය ද දිනා ගනිමින් දක්ෂතා දැක්වූ සෙනුල් 2019 වර්ෂයේ සමස්ත ලංකා අවුරුදු දහයෙන් පහළ ශ්‍රේණිගත නොවන ශුරතාවය ඇතුළු ශූරතා දිනාගත් දක්ෂ ක්‍රීඩයෙකි.

ධර්මරාජ විදුහලේ වර්ණලාභියෙකු වීමේ භාග්‍ය උදා කර ගෙන ඇති සෙනුල් රත්නායක විදුහලේ කණිෂ්ඨ අංශයේ ශිෂ්‍ය නායකයෙකුද වේ.

Rajans did well at Novices and Intermediate table tennis tournament organized by Women's working committee held at St. Thomas College Indoor stadium, Mt. Lavinia. Our sincere thanks to Old Rajan Mr. Hasitha Samaraweera for assisting and directing all the Rajans.

Rajans OBU 94 group gifted much needed Table Tennis table to Rajans Table Tennis today. This is an immense help to budding Rajan Table Tennis players as the tables they have being training are worn-out and damaged. This is the second time brothers of 94 group gifted a table tennis table.
Our heartiest thanks to brothers of 94 group, who have being one of the most active groups showing their gratitude to Alma Mater continuesly conducting various projects and services for more than 20 years now.

It's being a while since a Rajan paddler climb to a top of a podium. Drought of championships broken by little Rajan Table Tennis prodigy Senul Rathnayake by becoming the champion of under 10 age group at the All Island Table Tennis 🏓 Championship organised by Tibhar Sports Club held at St. Thomas College Indoor stadium on 11th and 12th January 2020. Today Rajan Table Tennis players began their training with the blessings of Maha Sangha. Deputy Principal Mr.Damitha Naranpanawa, POG Mr.Saliya Samarawickrama and new coach Mr.Thilina Wijesiri joined with Parents to organize the Pirith ceremony to bless the players.
