The meaning of the word Wing Tsjun is beautiful or everlasting spring time. According to a legend that originates from China Wing Tsjun was developed by two women about 350 years ago. Once when she was observing a fight between a crane and a snake she noticed that the crane parried the
snake’s attack with its wing and simultaneously landed a counter attack with its beak. From this observation the nun had the idea of developing a completely new fighting style which would be able to surpass the other existing methods. Wing Tsjun International:
Wing Tsjun International was founded by Dai-Sifu Thommy Luke Boehlig and Dai-Sifu Allan W. Fong in July 2005. As an umbrella organization for the Chinese martial art Wing Tsjun (WTI) oversees the development and spreading of the art. Grandmaster Thommy Luke Boehlig, born April 1976, is the managing director & CEO of Wing Tsjun International. He started his martial art career when he was 6 years of age and in 1991 Dai-Sifu Boehlig began with Wing Tsjun Kung-Fu which later became his profession. His teachers were Grandmaster Keith R. Kernspecht, Sifu Emin Boztepe, Sifu Stefan Fischer, Sifu Hans-Peter Edel and Sifu Thomas Schroen. Wing Tsjun International Sri Lanka:
When Grandmaster Thommy Luke Boehlig visited Sri Lanka in 2011 he conducted a special training program for instructors and appointed Sifu Premil Naveendra as the Sri Lankan representative of Wing Tsjun International. Sifu Premil Naveendra started his martial art career when he was about 13 years of age. In 2001 he began his Wing Chun career under Sifu Ajith De Silva and now he represents WTI in Sri Lanka and runs his head-office in Colombo.
