About Us

The Blue Deep Diving Centre was established in November 1995. We’re offering the full range of recreational diving courses by PADI, from Discover Scuba Diving to Dive Master. All dive courses available in English, Russian or other languages on request. Blue Deep staff are all certified PADI Dive Masters and Instructors and have many years of diving and teaching experience from all over the world. All the scuba equipment used for courses and fun diving is of the highest quality and regularly replaced or serviced to maintain the high level of safety. So, if you are looking for the best scuba diving facility, the highest standards and the friendliest staff in Sri Lanka, then look no further!

Blue Deep Diving Centre is located on Sri Lanka`s tranquil west coast in Hikkaduwa, a typically small lankan fishing village with gorgeous sand beaches, where coral reef protect the small bay from the surfing waves. Fortunately, the best dive sites of Indian Ocean are on our front doorstep. It is our ambition to make your SCUBA diving holiday as special, enjoyable and as safe as possible, therefore we prefer to dive in small groups (maximum 4 divers per Dive Master or Diving Instructor). This is all done for a very reasonable price. Our dive catamaran has a capacity of 15 people but we only allow a maximum 8 divers on-board to allow greater comfort and safety. The boat has a large dive platform for easy entry and exit from the water.

The diving season runs from October to April in Hikkaduwa , west side of island, and from April to October in Trincomalee - north-east part. During all year diving takes place seven days a week. Our professional Dive Masters take you on a two-dive day trip or single dives in the morning and afternoon. Each day the schedule is posted at the diving centre. All dives have a guide who will brief you and show the highlights of each site. Most dives are multilevel to extend your bottom time safely. Sri Lanka's reefs are amongst the richest in the world and are home to amazing hard and soft coral, sea fans and a kaleidoscope of tropical fish. Blue Deep Dive Sites offer a wide variety of underwater environments. From deep diving at Kirala Gala and Black Coral Point, drift diving at Hikkaduwa Gala and Diyamba, the famous Conch ship wreck and the Little Cave, Indian Ocean has something for every diver and diving certification level.

Blue Deep has a large selection of new, regularly maintained Scuba Pro equipment to rent, so if you prefer to travel light, it will take our helpful staff no time at all to choose kit to fit you perfectly. For those bringing their own gear, our 12 and 15 litre tank accommodate YOKE or DIN fitting. We dive in 3mm full suits throughout the season.
