If you're a beginner surfer Dewata surf point with its sandy bottomed sea and powerful but not overwhelming waves is probably the place to learn. the curve of the bay means you can walk all the way to the line up to catch waves, which is good for beginner who still haven`t developed the necessary upper body Strength. There is also an offshore reef within the bay which you can

reach by boat if you want the waves to yourself. Close to Colombo thanks to the highway, Dewata is wonderful whether or not you're a surfer. With its golden sands sheltered by groves of coconut palms if you've ever wanted to try your hand at the sport you won't find a better place.
