A fully-fledged “Competitive Swimming Programme” and a “Learn To Swim Programme” for children and adults at the NCC, Austasia and the Asian International School. His mission was to teach aquatic survival skills to children of all ages and adults. After my brother passed away I have taken over his mission and want to keep the BOLLING SWIMMING ACADEMY alive, functioning and moving forward. In additi
on to the above aquatic skills, we also conduct classes for swimmers who are keen to engage in swimming competitions at school and at National levels, working to improve their performance in Technique (Stroke Mechanics) Classes. PERSONAL PROFILE
In 1979 David represented Sri Lanka at Swimming, winning the Gold Medal in the 1500m Freestyle at the Indo- Bangladesh-Sri Lanka Triangular Aquatic Meet of that year. In addition, in the same year, he was placed First in the 1500m Freestyle event at the Sri Lanka National Championships, and the following year, 1980, David was placed First in the Six (6) Mile Sea Swim, setting a new record for this event. Sadly, a shoulder injury prematurely ended his competitive swimming career, but his love for swimming remained unchanged. In 1981, under the guidance of his former Coach, E. Wilson, he embarked on a coaching career at his alma mater, Royal College, where he continued coaching Royal until 1985. He then coached the Army Team and the Army Disabled Team with much enthusiasm. One of the swimmers of the former, Chaminda Priyadarshana, won three (3) Gold Medals and one (1) Bronze Medal at the FESPIC Games held in Bangkok in 1999. During this time, he also took on the Asian International School for a number of years during which time the school won the Inter-International School Swimming Meet on several occasions, with its swimmers establishing many new swimming records during that time. BOLLING SWIMMING ACADEMY
In 1988, my father and mother, Ralph and Tara Bolling, with David founded the Rainbow Swimming Aquatic Club at the Army Pool where he coached the senior swimmers. In 2001, my brother David and I started the Rainbow Swimming Academy (Pvt.) Ltd at the Nondescripts Cricket Club (NCC). During this time, David also administered the successful “Learn to Swim” Programmes at the NCC, CH & FC (CCC), Austasia and at the Premadasa Riding School. In January 2008, with the help of the coaching staff, David started his own Swimming School, the Bolling Swimming Academy. We now have a fully-fledged “Competitive Swimming Programme” and a “Learn To Swim Programme” for children and adults at NCC Austasia and the Asian International School. We welcome you to come join us and experience the beauty of aquatics through the learn to swim programme or the competitive swimming programme.
