Anoma Wijewardene is a Sri Lankan contemporary artist whose work explores the intersections of art, identity, culture and the human experience.

Her practice spans painting, sculpture and mixed media, bringing together visual storytelling and thought-provoking themes that reflect the complexities of the world around us.

With a career spanning over five decades, Anoma studied at Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London, before spending three decades in the UK as a designer, artist and lecturer. Her work has been exhibited internationally, including at Sotheby’s Hong Kong and the 58th Venice Biennale in 2019, where she became the first Sri Lankan solo artist to exhibit.

Through her work, Anoma continues to explore themes of diversity, reconciliation, environmental sustainability and the interconnectedness of humanity.

Anoma Wijewardene is a Sri Lankan contemporary artist whose work explores the intersections of art, identity, culture and the human experience.
