Lately I’ve been reminded that fitness isn’t just about looking fit… it’s medicine.
Real medicine.
Life throws tough times at all of us, and when your head feels heavy, your motivation disappears and your sparkle feels a bit dim — the very last thing you want to do is put your trainers on and go out. But honestly, that’s when you need it the most.
It’s not about smashing PBs or perfect workouts.
It’s about turning up.
Turning up when it’s raining.
Turning up when it’s muddy.
Turning up when you’re tired, stressed, emotional or just not feeling yourself.
Because once you step outside, get some fresh air, move your body and laugh with like-minded people, something shifts. Your mind quietens, your breathing slows, and for that hour you feel a little bit lighter. Fitness gives you space from your worries and reminds you you’re stronger than you think — physically and mentally.
I’ll be honest… recently I feel like I’ve lost a bit of my sparkle. But I know I’ll get it back. I always do. And I know why — because fitness has always helped me through every hard chapter of my life.
It’s never just been exercise to me.
It’s therapy.
It’s clarity.
It’s support.
It’s my reset button.
So if you’re struggling, don’t wait until you “feel like it”. You probably won’t. Just come anyway. Walk, jog, laugh, breathe… just move.
You might arrive feeling heavy, but you’ll always leave feeling better.
Thank you to everyone who shows up beside me — you probably don’t realise how much you help too ❤️
