The BLOM Beirut Marathon is November 11, 2012!
The Beirut Marathon Association is committed to attracting athletes with disabilities from around the world to participate and compete in the annual BLOM Beirut Marathon. In 2011, the event was made 100% wheelchair accessible--including airport, transportation, hotel accommodations, event facilities, and all the way to the podiums. In 2012, we're looking forward to making this great event even more attractive to para-athletes from all over the world.
The BLOM Beirut Marathon attracts over 30,000 athletes from 70 countries and, since it's founding in 2003, has become the premier athletic event in Beirut, Lebanon, and the eastern Mediterranean. Since 2011, the BLOM Beirut Marathon has been issued IAAF Road Race Bronze Label status.
In addition to being a great marathon host, Beirut is an incredibly diverse city on the Mediterranean Sea with views of the nearby 3,000 meter Lebanon Mountain range. Just 3-4 hours flight from most cities in Europe, Lebanon is known for its welcoming people, exciting nightlife, diverse cuisine, and great weather.
