This page is aimed to allow easier communication between Student-Athletes and the University Sports Department. The page will post results, photos, videos, schedules, events and will answer any type of questions related to Sports activities at AUB. The page will also post announcements related to the Charles Hostler Student Center activities and opening hours. Mission:
Within the AUB mission, the University Sports program is founded on the philosophy of providing a wide range of sport activities and programs to meet the many needs of a diversified student population. Through a blend of competition, lifetime activities and healthful living education, the program strives to encourage a continued participation in a healthy lifestyle throughout a student’s life. At the forefront, the mission of the University Sports program is to emphasize, advocate and promote the concept of (1) “opportunity to participate for all.” Other defining goals are (2) to accommodate student sport and fitness interests, (3) create and maintain an enjoyable educational sport and fitness atmosphere, (4) foster a sense of spirit, enthusiasm, and pride in the University and for physical activity as part of a routine balanced lifestyle, and (5) promote the image and reputation of AUB throughout the Region, Middle East and beyond. University Sports Department and Facilities:
The University Sports Department is located at the Charles Hostler Student Center which is named after former ambassador and AUB alumnus Charles W. Hostler following his generous donation, the student center opened its facilities for use on May 23, 2008. Located on AUB’s lower campus, the Center’s facilities comprise health and fitness rooms, an indoor 25-meter long swimming pool, a multi-use gymnasium, three basketball courts, two squash courts, student activity rooms, a 280-seat auditorium, an internet room, and an underground parking area for around 200 cars. Besides the CHSC the University Sports facilities include a refurbished track and Greenfield, Nadim Khalaf's Tennis Courts and the AUB Beach. Visit our websites for more info:
