You never know what will drift into your dive light on a Blackwater night dive. 🌙

This tiny peanut worm was freely swimming in the plankton during a shallow night dive at Cobalt Coast.

Peanut worms (Sipuncula) are usually associated with the seafloor, but their larvae can spend time in the plankton. The pelagosphera larval stage is adapted for swimming and can use cilia to move through the water column.

Another tiny, unusual encounter from the darkness just off our shore. 🔦🌊

We couldn't be prouder of one of our own.

Olivia "Liv" Barnett, a valued member of the Divetech team, has been recognized as a 2026 Emerging Honouree by the International Scuba Diving Hall of Fame (ISDHF).

Liv is much more than a talented dive professional. She is an instructor, underwater photographer, marine storyteller and passionate advocate for Cayman’s underwater environment.

Her photography has brought international attention to the incredible marine life found around the Cayman Islands, while her work in diving, education and conservation continues to inspire others both in and out of the water.

For those of us who get to work alongside her, we're especially proud to see her hard work, dedication and passion recognized in this way.

Congratulations, Liv! You deserve it. 💙

Meet Stephen.

This week, we’re shining the spotlight on Stephen, one of the friendly faces behind the Divetech team!

Stephen is a multi-award winning Platinum Course Director, Tec Trimix Instructor Trainer Public Safety Diver, Rebreather diver and service technician here at Divetech, all in the name of helping divers build their skills, confidence, and passion for exploring the underwater world.

As a Course Director, Stephen brings a wealth of experience to training and mentoring divers and instructors alike. Whether he’s teaching a new diver or helping an experienced dive pro take the next step, he’s always focused on making learning fun, safe, and rewarding.

We’re lucky to have Stephen as part of the Divetech family!
