Dear Far East Community,
We come to you today with some sad news.
Leroy Saunders, who served as a Judge in the 2026 Far East Throwdown unexpectedly passed away last week following a high intensity race, leaving behind his family and everyone whose lives he touched through the sport he loved.
Leroy was a CrossFit coach, CrossFit Seminar Staff, a mentor, and a friend to so many in the global CrossFit community. He gave everything to this sport and to the people around him. His passion for coaching was genuine, his knowledge was deep, and his energy was the kind that made every room feel different when he walked in.
To those who trained under him, he made them better athletes. To those who coached alongside him, he made them better coaches. To those who simply knew him, he made them feel welcome.
On August 23rd, 2026, the CrossFit community across Thailand where he made ‘home’ and beyond, will come together in a partner workout named ”Leroy“ in his honor.
Please join us in celebrating Leroy’s life, and remembering his legacy.
