In yesterday's class, we explored PILÓN! 🇨🇺
This rhythm was created in the 1960s by Cuban composer and percussionist Enrique Bonne, and more than 60 years later, this energetic rhythm is still danced and loved!
As usual, we started with the rhythm — and this one was SO much fun!
One of the most recognizable elements of Pilón is the movement of the arms and body, inspired by the traditional action of pounding coffee beans☕️
So the movement isn’t just about looking cool — it has a story behind it!
After listening to the rhythm and learning about the meaning of the movement, we explored different step variations and put everything together into a fun practice routine. And look at these beautiful dance heroes!
Send them some 🔥 in the comments for my beautiful dedicated dance heroes!
Pheakdey Ros and Mila you absolutely rocked it! ❤️
And we’re not done yet!
Next week, we continue our special August series "Bailes Populares Cubanos"
It’s time for PACHANGA! 🇨🇺
