Siem Reap Aikido Association Club Aikido is a Japanese form of self-defence and martial art that uses locks, holds, throws, and the opponent's own movements.

The CAA was established in 2002 when an Aikido coach from Japan, sponsored by JICA, was invited to Cambodia. Since then the CAA has grown to have around 200 active members from Cambodia, Japan, France, Australia, The Philippines, USA and other countries. Aikido is a modern Japanese martial art and due to its gentle nature it is popular for people of all ages. The word Aikido means ‘the way of harm

ony with ki’. It can be studied to improve your fitness, for spiritual advancement and for self defence. Aikido was founded by Ueshiba Morihei in the late 1920s and has become popular worldwide. It is now practiced in more than 90 countries. CAA holds regular Aikido training classes in Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, Battambang and Sihanoukville on weekdays and weekends. Aikikai Hombu Dojo Seminar held in Phnom Penh was a remarkable experience. Several members from our Siem Reap Aikido group participated, and together we had an enriching time. The opportunity to refine our techniques under the guidance of Umetsu Shihan and Fukaura Sensei was invaluable.
