Based in Phnom Penh, the skateshop focusses on making skateboarding accessible to Khmer youth, giving them a creative, recreational outlet to express themselves and build the skate community within Cambodia. the skateshop is owned and operated by skaters, for skaters. The soul purpose of the skateshop is to encourage and facilitate the creative growth of the skateboard scene in Cambodia, and each

individual who collectively are that scene. Currently the skateshop has a team of 3 sponsored local riders, who are the driving force of the skate scene in Cambodia. the skateshop also advocates for the building of a public skate park in Phnom Penh and, beginning September, will offer skate lessons to existing skaters and those new to the sport. the skateshop was founded as a social enterprise and is committed to putting back into the community skate scene and youth in the form of sponsoring local skaters, contributing to a public park and providing creative opportunities. more about skateboarding:

Skateboarding is both an individual and community sport. Meaning skaters simply need a board, ground and themselves to participate, or a group who eagerly support each others learning and development within the sport. Skateboarding is a personally challenging sport, which for Cambodian youth, is seldom encouraged or facilitated. With few youth recreations available in Cambodia the skateshop was born as a way to make skateboarding accessible and affordable to the youth (and all ages) of Cambodia. It encourages independence, self expression, goal setting and determination.
