Hello and welcome to Swim Streamline,
My name is Kirsten McIntosh and I am a qualified swim instructor, with over 20 years of experience teaching toddlers, kids and adults. I started swimming lessons at 18 months old after a near-drowning experience at my family home and since then have always lived near water. I have competed at school and national levels, and as an adult, I have swum in sprint
triathlons and open water events. I absolutely love swimming and strongly believe in the safety and physical health benefits it has to offer. Importantly, I also focus on the positive mental and confidence attributes of swimming streamlined. Swim Streamline offers swimming lessons to children and adults of all abilities and needs. From Tailored one-to-one Lessons, Parent and Baby Classes and Kid's Swim Play, an individual and inclusive approach is taken to each student and parent. I am also trained and experienced in youth development, special needs, ESL, and adolescent mental health.
- Tailored one-to-one lessons: Ages 4 +
Streamlining and buoyancy control are the key elements to being able to swim faster, effortlessly, and more gracefully. I tailor each class to individual needs and abilities and build on technique correction, strength building, and endurance.
- Parent and Baby Classes: Ages 18 months - 3 years old. I aim to establish water safety habits by building water, social and self-confidence. Learning these skills through the interactive play between parents and little tots, can lay the foundations for floating and treading water, and getting to an exit point.
- Kids Swim Play: Ages 5+
Swim safety, strength and confidence can be learnt in a fun and interactive way. By using swimming aids, underwater sinkers, and each other, buoyancy control, streamlined positioning and how to manoeuvre oneself in the density of water, can be achieved. It's a great energy burner and kids have fun simultaneously.
