Lemme tell you a story
I was seated somewhere in a bench outside an mpesa shop in Ololulunga junction, Narok County one fine evening baada ya kazi. My tractor driver and I just chilling. A petrol station named Sandos was not far from me. I had in the last one week noticed that there were over 10 trucks packed close to the petrol station and I kept asking myself if business had gotten this bad to the extent of brand new FRRs and FHs parking the whole day with no job.
I asked my driver Kip:
KM: Why are these trucks parked here whole day every day?
Kip: These trucks have work to do. Ni vile bado masaa yao ya kazi
KM: You mean they work at night, which job
Kip: They ferry cows from villages to Dagoretti slaughter house. Subiri ifike 6pm utaona lorry zote zikinguruma
At exactly 5:45pm the engines are turned on in readiness to go load the cows.
Kip: Hii biashara iko na pesa sana. K**a uko na lorry yako, you maximize on profits
KM: Ebu nieleze vizuri
Kip: Huku broker anaenda sokoni anatafutia trader mgombe at between 30k na 40k na kuziweka mahali moja. Lorry inabeba 15 cows. The lorry loads at 6pm, wanaanza safari kuenda Dagoretti. By 3am they offload the cows and the truck hits the road back to Ololulunga parking bay.
KM: So wanauza ngombe how much huko Dagoretti?
Kip: Ranges between 50k-80k depending on size, these traders ensure they get at least 20k per cow. Ukienda trips mbili per week hiyo inatosha.
KM: How much to hire a lorry?
Kip: 1,500 per cow. If you have your own lorry you'll maximize on profit.
KM: How are terms of payments
Kip: Huko ni cash. Utapatana na wazee tumbo kubwa kubwa wananunua cash money
KM: 😅😅
K**a uko na lorry nimekupea biz idea, if you have capital ndo hiyo biashara. Meanwhile endelea kuchapa maji
