Kaskazi season is around the corner 👀 So we thought it’s a good idea to share a couple of fun facts about this season!
1. Timing ⏰
Kaskazi season typically runs from mid December to mid March!
2. Weather Conditions ☀️
Expect hot and sunny weather with hardly any rainfall!
Temperatures during this period are typically between 28-35 degrees. 🥵 You won’t need a wetsuit, but a long rashvest and good sun protection!
3. Wind and Waves 💨
The wind during the Kaskazi season is very consistent and blows from the North/northeast.
Expect the wind to start filling in from about 11am, finding it’s peak between 12 & 3pm. Average wind speed is around 14-18 knots.
The swell is a bit smaller compared to the Kuzi season. You can have fun early morning sessions catching the waves on a SUP.
4. Marine Life 🪸
Ideal time for marine activities, as the water tends to be clearer and calmer. It is a great period for scuba diving and snorkeling, with coral reefs more accessible and rich marine life visible. If you are lucky you can swim with whale sharks between January and March!
5. Tourism 🌍
The Kaskazi season is considered one of the best times to visit Diani Beach for tourists who enjoy outdoor and beach activities. The warm weather, coupled with the reduced rainfall, makes it an attractive time for holidays!
