Sombea Boxing Club is pleased to confirm that it remains committed to full compliance with the requirements of the Sports Act, 2013 and the conditions stipulated in Registration Certificate No. 1240 issued by the Office of the Sports Registrar on 11th February 2025.
Following its registration as a Sports Club under the Sports Act, Sombea Boxing Club has taken deliberate steps to strengthen its governance, operational, and administrative structures in accordance with the law and internationally accepted sports governance standards.
In compliance with the conditions attached to its registration, the Club has undertaken a comprehensive review of its Constitution to ensure alignment with the Constitution of Kenya, 2010, the Sports Act No. 25 of 2013, and applicable international boxing governance principles. The revised constitutional framework promotes transparency, accountability, democratic leadership, athlete welfare, and effective management of the Clubβs affairs.
The Club has further embraced democratic governance by conducting its leadership affairs in accordance with the principles of good governance and stakeholder participation as envisaged under the Sports Act.
To guide its future growth and sustainability, Sombea Boxing Club has developed strategic planning mechanisms aimed at supporting short-term, medium-term, and long-term development objectives. These plans focus on athlete development, coaching excellence, youth empowerment, talent identification, financial sustainability, infrastructure improvement, and community engagement through sport.
Additionally, the Club has maintained compliance with statutory obligations, including tax compliance requirements, financial accountability measures, and adherence to all applicable laws and regulations governing sports organizations in Kenya.
Sombea Boxing Club recognizes that compliance is not a one-time obligation but a continuous commitment to good governance, integrity, transparency, and responsible management. The Club therefore remains dedicated to upholding the highest standards of administration while providing a safe, inclusive, and professional environment for athletes, coaches, officials, parents, sponsors, and all stakeholders.
The Management Committee expresses its appreciation to the Office of the Sports Registrar, the boxing fraternity, partners, sponsors, athletes, and supporters for their continued confidence and support as the Club advances its mission of developing boxing talent and promoting sporting excellence within Nakuru County and across Kenya.
