The Kenya Footballers Welfare Association (KEFWA) notes with serious concern the continued uncertainty surrounding the commencement of the 2026/27 FKF Premier League season arising from ongoing disputes concerning the composition of the league. KEFWA respects the legal right of every party to seek judicial redress.
KEFWA therefore calls upon all parties to pursue an expeditious and lawful resolution of the pending disputes, with due regard to the interests and rights of players as primary stakeholders in the game.
We further call for the conclusion and formalization of FKF and KEFWA MoU establishing a clear
framework for consultation, cooperation and player representation. Such an agreement is necessary to provide institutional clarity and ensure that matters affecting players are addressed through an appropriate and predictable mechanism.
KEFWA remains committed to constructive engagement with FKF and all relevant stakeholders
towards ensuring that Kenyan football operates within a framework founded on legal certainty, procedural fairness, contractual protection, good governance and respect for players' welfare.
