Uzani Power Weekend 8 Qualification
All past participants at any previous edition of The Uzani Power Weekend have an automatic qualification.
New entry athletes are remotely qualified via video submission.
Video Submission Guidelines
WHAT:
Submit a video of your BEST ATTEMPT in the:
1. Weightlifting; Sn**ch and Clean & Jerk (minimum total women-60kg, men-100kg)
2. Powerlifting; Squat, Bench and Deadlift (Minimum total women 200kg, men-300kg)
3. Fitness; 5 Overhead Squats (35kg women, 50kg men), 5 Thrusters (35kg women, 50kg men), 1 Squat Clean & Jerk (55kg women, 85kg men), 10 unbroken Double Unders.
HOW:
1. FULL LIFT IN FRAME: The entire body, barbell, and plates must be visible throughout the lift. The lifter must directly face the camera (frontal view) for both/all lifts.
2. UNBROKEN FOOTAGE: Submissions must be recorded in one continuous shot PER LIFT — no edits, cuts, or zooming.
3. VISIBLE WEIGHTS: The loaded barbell must be shown clearly at the end of the lift, with close-ups on plate weights. Mention the weight lifted at the end of the video i.e. “Ninety five kilo Sn**ch”
4. IDENTIFICATION: Verbally introduce yourself (state your full name), the competition under qualification and event classification at the beginning of the video i.e “I’m Malaika, qualifying for the Uzani Power Weekend 8 Women’s event.”
5. PLATFORM AND STANDARDS: The lift must be performed on a safe, non-slip surface with no supportive gear beyond what is permitted by competition standards.
6. TIME LIMIT: Each video must be under 2 minutes and include only one attempt.
7. SUBMISSION FORMAT: Submit the MP4 format video as an ATTACHED DOCUMENT via WhatsApp to +254 791919563
Video must be titled as: FullName_Lift_Weight i.e MalaikaBaraza_Sn**ch_45kg.
8. JUDGING CRITERIA: All lifts will be judged according to the Uzani Power Weekend technical standards. No lift will be accepted if the athlete’s form or the video quality does not meet these requirements and/or rules of performance for each lift.
