Our super the 2022 Commonwealth Games lightweight bronze medallist, Hellen Wawira, missed the medal bracket by a whisker, finishing fourth in personal best 104.4kgs. Esther Nworgu (119kg) and Esther Oyema (115.5kg) made it a 1-2 for Nigerian with Olivia Broome (106.6) taking bronze for England.

Our powerlifters have landed in Glasgow, Scotland ahead of the Commonwealth Games starting July 23 to August 3 in the Scottish capital. They include the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games bronze medallist, Joyce Njuguna, the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games bronze medallist, Hellen Wawira, Rahab Nyambura and Jeremiah Maringa.
