So… this is my life now after my TikTok video went viral 😳

Randomly getting stopped in matatus and public spaces with:
“Hey Sharon, I saw you on TikTok!”

Some even ask for my number or ask if they can book a cleaning service.

At this point I feel like I’ve gotten a small taste of celebrity life because now I can’t even argue with a makanga peacefully, because I might be sitting next to a potential client. Awuoro 😂

But honestly, thank you so much for the love, support, follows, comments, shares, and kindness in this online space.

I never planned to become a cleaning professional.

But as I searched for work that was meaningful and hands-on, I discovered something simple but profound, this was already a gift in my hands.

Whatever you choose to do with your hands, do it with excellence and master your craft.

When I entered the cleaning industry, I became intentional about learning the skill deeply and doing my work excellently.

Recently, a client who had hired someone else before booked me, and after seeing the work, she was so impressed she paid me double.

Later on, she had a last-minute cleaning emergency while hosting guests. It was already late, but she literally asked for my location and sent a driver to pick me up because, in her words she said:

“I can easily hire another company, but I haven’t found someone as skillful as you.”

People easily dismiss work like cleaning, yet there are people who deeply value quality and excellence in this industry.

Never despise the work of your hands.

Even if you are mending shoes, there should be skill, excellence, and intentionality behind what you do.

I now understand why people I admire who are building visions, businesses, movements, communities, and dreams carry themselves differently.

There’s a groundedness to them. A discipline. A level of alignment and intentionality.

Because building changes you.

Building exposes you to an atmosphere that demands growth. It requires discipline, grit, vision, stewardship, and responsibility. You can’t stay passive or too comfortable when something meaningful is in your hands.

Even in my own journey of building, I’ve noticed how quickly it sharpens your thinking. You stop thinking like a spectator, because you become aware that something has been entrusted to you and needs to be sustained.

And I think this is something more people should desire: To become builders.

Even in employment or service, shift the question from “what am I doing here?” to:
“How do I help build?”
“How do I contribute?”
“How do I make this better?”

Because builders don’t just occupy spaces.
They shape them.

And in the process, they are shaped too.
