It is with profound sorrow that I extend my heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of the late Dr. Gikera of Kamukabi. A man of exceptional intellect and a compassionate healer, Dr. Gikera was a true pillar of his community. His tireless commitment to his patients and unwavering dedication to the medical profession will be forever remembered and cherished.

As we mourn the loss of Dr. Gikera, let us also celebrate the legacy of care and service he leaves behind. We can find solace in the knowledge that his life touched many, and his work will continue to inspire future generations. He was also a devoted father to Dr. Dickson (Dr. Onyango Diki) of Modern Aberdare Hospital, Kangari, ensuring that his spirit of service and dedication to healing lives on.

To his family, I wish you strength and peace during this difficult time. May you be comforted by the outpouring of love and the beautiful memories you shared with him. May his soul rest in eternal peace.

As part of on-going reforms, all state-funded bursaries must be merged into one Fund. Absurdly, today Kenya is running a whooping 54 parallel state-funded bursaries: Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) Bursaries, 47 County Government Bursaries, National Government Affirmative Action Fund (NGAAF), Presidential Secondary School Bursary, Kenya Institute of Social Work and Community Development (KISWCD), Presidential Bursary Scheme for Orphans and Vulnerable Students and Higher Education Funding. This will end corruption and depoliticize the funding of education.

Today, at Rwathia in Kangema, Murang'a County, we celebrated the life of a Patriarch Mzee Gerald Gikonyo Kanyuira, CBS, a prominent figure in the business world.

Mzee Gikonyo, who passed on at the age of 110 years, has left a legacy of excellence through resilience.

May his soul Rest in Eternal Peace.

His Excellency the Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua led Public Service Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria, MPs Peter Kihungi (Kangema), Jayne Kihara (Naivasha), James Gakuya (Embakasi North), Murang'a Senator Joe Nyutu, Nominated Senator Veronica Maina, County Assembly Speaker Johnson Mukuha, MCAs led by Area MCA Kamau Kagori (Rwathia Ward), former Kirinyaga Senator Daniel Karaba and former Nairobi Deputy Governor Polycarp Igathe among others joined us to give Mzee Gikonyo a befitting send off.
