Baraka Women's Center

Baraka Women's Center At the Baraka Women's Center, we create tote bags, purses, aprons and quilts...The money earned supports ladies from Kibera Slum.

In 2010, the Baraka Women's Center was started as a way to teach the women from the Kibera Slum in Nairobi, Kenya sewing skills so that they can sustain themselves and their families. To date, the women are sewing tote bags, aprons, quilts, and more! They have a sewing center on the property of First Love Kenya and work diligently to fill orders. In May of 2014, we started a training program for new students in which the graduates of the first class are now the trainers.
