The last time I stepped into a clinic to check my HIV status was 2017,
Then sometime in 2024, I went to Mombasa and entered a club called Yatch pale Mywapa. Those who have been to Mtwapa might have come or heard of Yatch.
My brothers and sisters… a small spirit of stupidity possessed me. I did something I have never done in my life.I proundly shown my skills(Horizontal Engineering)to some Sablenya onwers.
Since that day, every cough was sounding like a farewell speech. A mosquito bite would was enough for me to start updating my will.A sweat at night, and I would begin pricing coffins mentally.
Today I finally gathered courage and went for testing at a certain private clinic at Nairobi which I won't mention the name because this is not a paid advert. To cut long story short.
Ladies and gentlemen… when that nurse showed me the results, I almost proposed to her. I hugged the nurse, hugged the receptionist, hugged the watchman, even the guy mopping the floor wasn’t safe. The patients were not spared either.
The entire clinic thought I was their lost staff or relative from Garissa.
I walked out of that clinic feeling like I had been resurrected on the third day.
Fear HIV my friends. That pressure can turn a grown man into a full-time pastor overnight.
I know it's not a laughing matter but my courage to finally know my status & the reaction afterwards is worth celebrating & hugging everyone I hugged.
