AFC LEOPARDS POST STRONGER FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE
AFC Leopards Sports Club has recorded an improved financial performance for the year ended 31st December 2025, according to its latest annual report and financial statements.
In a document in Pepeta’s possession, the club registered a total income of KSh 145.23 million, slightly up from KSh 143.55 million in 2024, reflecting steady revenue growth despite a challenging football economic environment.
However, expenditure also remained high, with total costs rising across several operational areas. AFC Leopards’ total expenditure stood at KSh 129.01 million, compared to KSh 139.42 million in the previous year, indicating improved cost management.
The modest increase in income suggests continued reliance on traditional revenue streams such as sponsorships, matchday earnings, and commercial activities. While growth remains limited, the club maintained stability in its revenue base.
Direct costs rose significantly to KSh 29.29 million, up from KSh 19.17 million in 2024. Other direct costs, however, dropped to KSh 18.61 million from KSh 31.11 million, indicating some restructuring in football operations.
Administrative expenses decreased from KSh 87.96 million to KSh 79.62 million, suggesting tighter control on overheads. Finance costs also slightly increased to KSh 1.49 million.
Despite the mixed cost pattern, AFC Leopards posted a stronger financial outcome, recording a surplus before tax of KSh 16.23 million, a significant improvement from KSh 4.13 million in 2024. The surplus after tax remained unchanged at KSh 16.23 million, as no taxation provisions were recorded.
The improved surplus signals better financial discipline and operational efficiency at the club. However, rising direct costs highlight the continued pressure of maintaining competitive football operations.
AFC Leopards will be looking to strengthen its revenue base further while maintaining cost control to ensure long-term financial sustainability as they seek to wrestle the league title from Gor Mahia after coming second in the just concluded 2025/26 season.
