Iโm sorry to say this, but getting rid of Van Nistelrooy for Amorim might have been the biggest mistake we made.
Donโt get me wrong, Amorim is a good coach and might even be the long-term answer, but if we wanted quick results, Ruud was already showing he could deliver.
He came in as interim, had us unbeaten in his four games, beating Leicester and lifting the mood at a time when the players desperately needed belief. The system was simple, effective, and the players were used to it.
Then we switched to Amorim. New ideas, new formation, new demands and of course that takes time to click. But the timing of the change was the problem.
United werenโt crying out for a rebuild mid-season, we were crying out for stability and momentum. Ruud was already giving us that, and then he was gone.
Amorim might be the future, but Van Nistelrooy was the present. He was the one who couldโve carried us while the long-term vision was built.
Instead, we pressed reset again, and now weโre left waiting for something that may take years to settle.
We canโt keep pretending, that switch set us back and we must be patient if we truly need it to work. โ๏ธ๐ช
