Team Kenya Ready for the 2026 Africa Triathlon Cup - El Galala!
Our juniors are set to compete this weekend at the Africa Triathlon Junior Cup in El Galala, Egypt.

This marks the final competition in preparation for the Youth Olympic Games in Dakar later this year.

Kenya’s rising triathlon talents lit up the shores of Kilifi at the Africa Triathlon Development Cup, showing incredible resilience under scorching heat and intense competition — all with eyes firmly on Dakar 2026 and our future Olympic dreams. 🇰🇪🔥

In the men’s youth races, 16-year-old Ishmael Mungai delivered a courageous all-round performance, just shy of the podium but full of promise and growth. Fellow Kenyan Robert Richard (16) secured a strong fourth-place finish and said, “The competition was well organised… I believe in God.” 🙏

On the women’s side, South Africa’s Taylor Foster took gold, but Kenya’s Bernice Kariuki stole hearts with one of her best races yet. “I got one of my best personal bests in triathlon… I now have something to look forward to. I will work on improving my swimming, run and technical bike,” she said — a true champion mentality. ❤️💪

The elite category brought electrifying action, with Namibia’s Maja Brinkmann and South Africa’s Ryan Viviers leading the field — but Kenya proudly celebrated podium moments: Megan Irungu stormed to 2nd in the elite women’s race, and Hamza delivered a powerful new personal best in the men’s race.

Secretary General Ole Koyiet praised the event’s contribution to youth development: “It’s a very good sport, especially for the youth… It teaches endurance, life skills, and resilience.” Meanwhile, the First Lady of Kenya’s Triathlon community added, “I’m proud of everyone. The heat was extreme — but so was the heart.”

As the 2025 season wraps, the Kilifi Cup leaves our athletes tougher, smarter, and more inspired — sharpening Kenya’s edge for the Youth Olympic Games and the next Olympic cycle. 🌍✨

This is more than sport — it’s the making of champions.

📸 KILIFI DEVELOPMENT CUP: YOUTH TRIATHLETES SHINE AS SEASON ENDS — EYE ON DAKAR 2026 🇰🇪🔥

Kenya’s youth and elite triathletes wrapped up the 2025 season in style at the Africa Triathlon Development Cup in Kilifi!
In tough heat, heavy humidity, and intense continental competition, our athletes delivered outstanding performances — gaining crucial experience ahead of the Youth Olympic Games in Dakar 2026.

👦 Youth Men:
• Ishmael Mungai (16) put in a strong all-round performance, narrowly missing the podium.
• Robert Richard (16) impressed with a 4th-place finish, saying, “The competition was well organised… I believe in God.”

👧 Youth Women:

• South Africa’s Taylor Foster took gold.
• Zimbabwe’s Rachel O’Donoghue and Egypt’s Judy Fatty followed closely.
• Kenya’s Bernice Kariuki closed a remarkable season with a personal best:
“One of my best years. Now I’ll work on improving my swim, run and bike.”

🏅 Elite Races:

• Megan Irungu secured 2nd place in the elite women’s race behind Namibia’s Maja Brinkmann, gaining confidence ahead of next season.
• Hamza clocked a personal best in the elite men’s category.
• South Africa’s Ryan Viviers won the men’s race, saying hard daily training was his “secret.”
