Huge congratulations to the three teams under Team Swamp for their outstanding performance in the just concluded Nairobi Marathon Relay organized by Fitness with David. Out of 100 teams, securing the 3rd, 21st, and 28th positions is truly remarkable. Each team, with 6 participants running 7k, showcased incredible teamwork and determination. Well done, everyone!

Buyanzi,one of our own got knocked by a motorcycle while participating in Kili marathon early this year..

She is on her recovery journey and soon we will be seeing her conquering Kikuyu elevations as she used to..

As a running community we say pole to her with a 32km run,the distance at which the said motorbike stopped her journey on the way to conquering the hilly marathon.

Other distances for the day are also available,and if not in physical attendance,do a virtual run at your convenience..

Those joining the physical run,we meet at KARLO.

All funds raised for the run goes towards supporting queen of elevations recovery...

The backyard ultra or last one standing is a form of ultramarathon race where competitors must consecutively run the distance of 6.706 kilometres in less than one hour for unlimited number of hours..

The race is over when only one runner remains to complete a lap.

This runner is marked as the winner and only finisher, with all other runners receiving a "DNF" (Did Not Finish).

The runner who completes the second-most laps in a race is often referred to as the "assist", in the sense that their effort is ultimately what determines how long the race is allowed to continue.

There is no predefined end length or time in a backyard ultra, as long as multiple runners can complete each loop within an hour.

It can go for days if it comes to that.

Last year the Kenyan edition was won by Clement who ran for 26 straight hours assisted by Cheruiyot...

Will this year see Anita Kathono who was the top most lady finisher challenging the two gents or will the race produce a new local legend silencing the clement vs cheruiyot rivalry?Will the emerging local legend Jimnah Njoroge as groomed and hardened by Swamp runners be a threat to the throne?

It's a thriller like no other..see you on Saturday as the Ultra Kenya team this year brings the show to Ruiru..

Entertainment..food and drink stands available on the ground to keep the spectators glued to the cross line and the challengers strong enough to keep moving on and on.
