Later, together with Nyeri Deputy Governor H.E. David Kinaniri, we officially kicked off the countdown for the incredible Truphena Muthoni β a young woman aged 22 years old from, Ihwagi, Mathira who continues to inspire us all.

βShe is once again making Nyeri County proud as she attempts to break her own world record: moving from 48 hours of tree-hugging to an ambitious 72 hours.
βTruphena first set the 48-hour record earlier this year.
β
βIn this challenge, she is advocating for:
β
β1. Indigenous trees
β2. Indigenous communities
β3. Inclusivity for People Living With Disabilities β including a planned three-hour blindfold to highlight the experience of those with visual impairments.

βShe hopes to show that tree-hugging is therapeutic. As mental health challenges continue to rise, reconnecting with nature reminds us who we are. We are part of nature, not separate from it.

βWe wish the confident and determined Truphena all the best as she takes on this remarkable challenge.
