IFO Sports News
IFO Sports News is reporting on the tournament that was recently held in IFO.
When the tournament was launched, the organizers said that it was an administration-run tournament. However, after the tournament ended, the situation became confusing, and they said that an individual had taken responsibility for organizing it. It is okay if an individual wants to organize and support a tournament, but there is still an important question:
Where did the money that was collected go?
The tournament expenses were supported by an individual, Mr. Abdi Kheyr Dhubow (Kheyrow), who contributed KSh 400,000. The money was used for the cup, medals, tents, and other expenses, and he did a lot of work. We sincerely thank Kheyrow for his support and contribution.
However, since the tournament was presented as being organized by the administration, we need transparency about where the money collected from the tournament went. This issue should not be hidden from the youth.
The tournament was organized under the administration, yet we are now being told that there is no money for expenses. According to the information available, at least KSh 288,800 was collected. Where did that money go? Honestly, this is disappointing.
Kheyrow contributed money for the following:
* Champion/Winner: KSh 30,000
* Loser/Runner-up: KSh 20,000
* Referees: KSh 30,000
* Security: KSh 30,000
* Cup
* Medals
* Best Top Scorer award
The cameraman has not yet been paid, and his payment is still outstanding.
The players’ allowances/payments have also not yet been given, and their money is still pending.
Total payments mentioned:
* 30,000
* 20,000
* 30,000
* 30,000
Total: KSh 110,000
This is the amount that has been clearly accounted for so far. The question remains:
Where did the rest of the money go?
We are genuinely surprised.
IFO Sports believes that fairness and transparency are very important. Let us work with fairness and accountability for our community. Something must be done. Let us bring the youth together and create good opportunities for them instead of allowing them to remain divided.
Yesterday, Kheyrow was the person who stepped forward and supported the tournament financially. Tomorrow, the media will continue asking questions and seeking accountability.
IFO Sports – Justice, transparency and accountability are important.
