As received💔
"It is with deep sorrow that we share the painful loss of our beloved Mr. Cheroben Saekwo.
Until Sunday evening, 12 July 2026, Cheroben was in good health. Earlier that evening, he had a confrontation with Mr. Sirika Sipit regarding a business transaction involving timber that Cheroben had sold to him.
At approximately 9:40 p.m. on Sunday, while on his way home, Cheroben was allegedly attacked by Mr. Sirika and other unidentified individuals. He was severely beaten and left unconscious. After regaining consciousness, he managed to walk home, had his evening meal, informed his wife about the incident, and went to bed.
On Monday morning, 13 July 2026, he was taken to a nearby health facility where he received first aid. However, his condition continued to deteriorate. At around 4:00 p.m., an ambulance was arranged to transfer him to Bungoma Lifecare Hospital, where he arrived at approximately 5:00 p.m. Sadly, he was unresponsive upon arrival. The medical team rushed him to the emergency department and made every effort to resuscitate him, but despite their best efforts, he passed away.
The body showed severe head injuries consistent with trauma from a blunt object, as well as injuries around the neck suggesting that he had struggled during the attack.
His body was transferred to D-Light Mortuary, Kimilili, on the night of 13 July 2026.
As a family, we are deeply grateful to everyone who stood with us during this difficult time—those who came to support us last night, those who have reached out with messages of comfort, and all who have continued to keep us in their prayers. Your love, presence, and prayers have been a great source of strength as we mourn this painful loss.
May Cheroben's soul rest in eternal peace"
VOC extend our heartfelt condolences to our dear teacher following the tragic attack. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your loved ones during this difficult time .
