Pausing your workout doesn’t negate the work!! It’s just a season and truly, every day is different with kids. Just keep going!

If you’re looking for a trainer that wants to encourage & empower you (and GETS IT), hiiii!!! I don’t do before & after pics and the workouts are crafted with how women move & function at the forefront. I have virtual and in-person options available. 🔗 in bio or just message me!

And if you experience symptoms, if you have access to pelvic floor PT, go!!

Leaking and other symptoms have been joked about after having a baby by older generations, but in my opinion, that’s due to a failure in the health care system. It’s a failure in providing moms with adequate care postpartum along with a lack of research & understanding of the female body in general. Also, ITS NEVER TOO LATE to go or focus on healing!!

The women before us deserved better care and education. The best thing we can do now is change that cycle for the next generation of moms!!

These signs could also be used for higher impact exercise, like CrossFit type workouts or doing a Hyrox.

Finding out you’re pregnant is a REALLY good time to start being active! Non-activity increases your risk of negative outcomes during pregnancy, birth and postpartum. Exercise is good for an expecting mom for many, MANY reasons!!

Here’s a novel idea…how about we just support how moms want to birth their babies??

Birth is a delicate dance between mom and baby ✨ …increased breastfeeding success, lower chances of tearing and easier recovery are a few “rewards”.

This is outdated research. In a healthy pregnancy, if mom isn’t dizzy, faint, etc, this is fine. Sitting between sets is encouraged.

Your deep inner core literally helps you sit upright. You might just need help with your brain — body connection!

IYKYK 🤣 again, outdated advice for pregnant women. A LOT of advice around pregnancy & fitness is very new.

My cosleeping, contact napping baby would never, but it it works for you, that’s good 🤣

FIRST, Send these with your birth partner!! THEN, read this! ⬇️

If you’ve ever done one of my workouts in person or on my app, you know that I’m ALL about breath. That’s because breath is one of the biggest tools you have to help stay in control, be it pushing through one more rep, making it through your run or working through labor. Even when everything else seems to be out of control, you can come back to breathe! It’s always there.

As you practice breathwork, you can more easily “tap in” to it when you’re in stressful situations. Riding waves during labor, when your muscles burn during a workout, or even just moments where you feel overwhelmed & are trying to keep yourself regulated.

When it comes to birth, these phrases are beyond helpful. Your birth partner can support you through this AND they’ll also benefit from low, deep breaths. It will help them stay grounded and steady for you, even in moments of stress.

WHAT HELPS ⬇️

• Having a routine & sticking with it. This teaches your kids expectations and boundaries around the activity. It becomes a part of their daily routine too. Kids love routine!!

• Having a plan. You don’t have to follow it 100%, and I don’t think you should. BUT having a plan will help take one less thing off your overflowing mental load.

• Stop quitting because you had a bad week. It’s okay to have weeks where you fall short. That’s life! There’s no train or race to the finish line. Fitness is good for you!! Working out consistently over the course of your life is the goal. Sitting (inactivity) is the new smoking.

• Find small goals. While having big goals is an awesome motivator, breaking it down into small goals will help you feel inspired and excited!! I always say, in order to eat an entire cake you have to take a single bite. Celebrate the pieces you finish!! Maybe you want to run a marathon. Celebrate the 5k distance, 10k, half, 20 miler… you get it!!

If you’re looking for a plan, I can help! I offer a monthly workout subscription and running programs! 📲

There isn’t just a mental load in motherhood…there’s a physical load as well. It requires strength!! Point blank periodddddd.

I want to add, this isn’t a dig at GLP-1s. I have clients who use them and they are a fabulous tool. Like anything related to fitness, it’s a tool in the toolbox and there are many tools.

However, you gotta focus on the tools that help us FUNCTION & FEEL better!! Exercise and fueling your body well will be helpful tools for most people.

If you’re interested in Oki content, mom life & fitness advice, hiiii I’m your girl!! 📲
