GOALS　To enhance the technical and instructional skills of current and prospective instructors across Aikido Ryu organizations—which preserve the teachings of Gozo Shioda—and to standardize techniques and teaching methods nationwide.
DATE　Saturday the 17th and Sunday the 18th of October 2026
LOCATION　Nippon Budokan Training Center　（582 Sawakura, Katsuura City, Chiba Prefecture; Tel: 0470-73-2111）
ELIGIBILITY　High School students and above; holding 3rd kyu and above
LIMIT　Space is limited to the first 50 applicants

Someone asked us what the difference between “bad” and “good” is in this video so here’s an explanation:
Bad: hips and center are raised and ‘floating’ and are out of alignment.
There's no power in them and so no power is transferred to uke.
Good: hips are low and in alignment with his center line and the big toe of the back leg is effective. This brings power into the center which is then transferred to uke, making it easier to off balance him when cutting down. The difference is subtle but makes a huge difference in the effectiveness of the front strike and of the technique. It requires consistent training of the lower body; developing strength and flexibility in the hips; knees; ankles; thighs and toes 🥋🐉
