Hello everyone. Sorry I haven’t been having many Saturday classes recently. Been taking advantage of the time to be out in nature, hearing live music, playing gigs in new spots, watching fireworks, etc. From September, I promise to have some Saturday classes again! ✌️And if you’re on my mailing list, still a couple more days to make requests for my September schedule.

If you’re not on my mailing list, I welcome you. I send 1-2 emails a month with discounts just for my community. Lmk if you’d like me to add you.

Next Friday (8/21) having a free clothing swap & there are still a few spots open. The pieces I got at the last one are still on heavy rotation. Would love to do these every couple months if folks are interested.

If you’re in Asagaya today or this weekend, definitely check out Tanabata festival! Lots of cute DIY creations & a festive atmosphere. This weekend it WILL be crowded, so tonight is a good chance to leisurely explore.

I won’t be around since Santa Dharma is doing a gig in Hamamatsu this weekend. See ya when I get back! ✌️

August is a month I’m off from teaching yoga at the university, so I wanted to use this time to create some *free* community events! If you’ve been curious about checking out California Bliss Dept. this is a great chance 💕

The first 2 events are all about digital detox. Let’s put our phones away & be in the present moment.

Then, on the 21st, a clothing swap. Rather than throwing those “oops” purchases in the trash, or getting ¥1 at a recycle shop 😅 let’s give them a second chance at being someone’s favorite item.

Thank you so much to everyone who was a part of “California Bliss: Volume 1”! Such wonderfully unique musicians and the sweetest audience! 🫶 Lots of recordings we haven’t had time to edit but in the meantime, here are some 35 mm snaps! Forgot to have someone take our picture, so here’s a video instead!

I want to organize some more sober music events like this in the future, so let me know if you’re interested in performing. Due to the acoustics of this space, I’m mostly interested in ambient, folk, etc. (Weird is good, I like weird😅) Send me a dm & we can discuss the details.

Everyone who’s known me for a while knows I close every year to go to Fuji Rock Festival + camp for 4 nights + walk a million steps + see so many amazing artists.

Yoga helps me at Fuji Rock, not only in the sense of walking without pain, but also knowing when to rest. Surrendering to whatever the weather is (torrential rain, heat, humidity) and enjoying it without preference. Being ok with the bug dudes and making peace with the fact that some folks are annoying and some spots get ridiculously crowded.

Before I embark I have a few more classes on Tuesday. Please join me if you’re free! Or see ya there. Or if not, see ya when I get back. ✌️

A little reminder that what we see on here isn’t reality. My husband accidentally took this (hilarious) photo of me looking like I have looooong legs when in reality I’m barely over 5 foot, have big hips & shoulders, and you know what? Cool. These big strong hips and shoulders have defended me from a couple of assaults here in Japan. Thanks to them I could escape. Some folks would love for us to be tiny so we can be taken over. If you come to my studio you won’t hear me telling you how to lose weight, but I will teach you what I know about stability, breath, and finding joy. Life’s too short to spend it worrying about becoming smaller.
